Transported

Today we were timeless
You and I
As if transported
Into a place of pure abandon
Where passion was as gentle
As the summer wind
And our longing like whispers
Caressing us
In that instant
Nothing else existed
But discovering you
And a friendship
That is new
Yet seemingly as old
As time itself
And whatever may come of it all
Is of little consequence
What is important
Is the memory
Of that sense of complete surrender
To another heart
