Each Encounter (II)

Each encounter is a spark
That fills my pen with ink
Opens the gate of words
Within my being
I barely know you
You are the canvas
I paint upon
Using the colors of my heart
And whether the spark between us
Is ever realized
Or vanishes
Matters little
What matters
Is that you have helped me find
The lover within
UNKNOWABLE

You said you could offer me nothing
But friendship
And in that moment
I understood your words
That every moment is unknowable
And that an authentic path is never forged
By force of will
And that all attempts
To control what will or will not be
Are completely futile
For the winds of the soul
Are completely untamable
And what steers the heart unpredictable
For in each moment we re-invent ourselves
All we can ever be sure of
Is that, with time
All becomes clear
WHY IS IT?

Why is it
When I barely know your name
Yet you touch me
As if you know
Every inch of my body
Your eyes undress my emotions
Caress me raw
A stranger somehow familiar
With the intimate landscape
Of my heart
TRUE LOVE’S ARRIVAL

I wish for you
True love’s arrival
That it’s taste
Is beyond your wildest dreams
I wish for you
A companion
Who will love you completely
Cradle your heart
As if it was their own
Your true love
Unbridled
Unquestioned
Undeniable
Love’s arrival
At long last
